Larry, Sue, Dave and Lawrence.

Larry was our first puppy from Guide Dogs For The Blind. He had to be retired early because of ill health but he enjoyed moving to Keswick. Larry loved all the many walks that can be found just a few minutes from our house. Larry would greet our guests while carrying his favourite toy. He was also a great fund raiser for Guide Dogs For The Blind and enjoyed all the coffee mornings where he worked hard meeting people. We are very grateful for the few happy years that we had with him in his retirement.
Larry died very suddenly late November 2006, he will be sadly missed by all who met him. Since then, we've given short term foster care for many Guide Dogs and a loving home to many more.

Sue ran a successful guest house in Hexham, Northumberland for a number of years before moving to our favourite holiday town of Keswick to run Larry's Lodge. Sue also used to puppy walk for Guide Dogs For The Blind raising seven puppies, all of the puppies graduated to become working Guide Dogs For The Blind. Sue dosen't puppy walk anymore, but continues her work with Guide Dogs For The Blind by helping to raise money through public speaking about the charity. In her spare time, Sue loves to sew and make quilts, and has recently helped various charities raise many hundreds of pounds through her craft.

Dave is very keen on fishing, photography, exploring the fells around Keswick as well as helping Sue to run the guest house. Dave also loves drawing and has produced several dog portraits using the famous, locally made, Derwent coloured pencils. He's also trying his hand at painting with acrylics and oils so you may see a few samples of his work around our house.

Lawrence is our "recycled" Guide Dog trainee as he didn't qualify to become a working Guide Dog. He's really enjoying life with us in Keswick, spending time walking the fells, meeting people and other nice dogs. Lawrence is also a qualified Ambassador for Guide Dogs For The Blind and helps Sue raise funds on her many talks about the organisation.
